In March, we went outside and joined an initiative related to nature – making birdhouses.
This time, South Park was our host, and our motivation – our main tool. An ornithologist told us many new things about different species of birds, about where and how they like to nest, and what they need to feel safe.
We found that working outdoors, combined with caring for the bird inhabitants, was the right thing for this month. We assembled, drilled, refined, and in the meantime, laughed and learned. Some of us turned out to be particularly skillful, others - not so much.
The houses are now where they belong – among the branches, waiting for their little tenants. And we gained another common memory and a little more understanding of the world around us.
